Changi, Singapore (April 2008) - InterSystems is pleased to announce the
installation of our RapidFIDS system for the new Terminal 3 project at Singapore
Changi International Airport . The avant-garde Terminal 3 building is designed to
handle over 22 Million people per year and InterSystems’ signature software is
the airport’s solution of choice.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has commissioned the S$1.75
Billion terminal expansion project in an airport where customer service is of
primary concern. Changi International Airport has won over 280 awards during
the last 20 years for outstanding service excellence. It is no surprise they
entrusted InterSystems to provide their mission critical Flight Information
Display Solution to guide millions of passengers and guests through the
expansive new terminal.
InterSystems’ RapidFIDS controls over 700 specially designed LCD screens
throughout the new Terminal, providing flight and check-in information in English,
Japanese, Chinese and Korean automatically, depending on the destination.
Each display has a built-in Linux-based PC controller that runs InterSystems’ VisionClient software. VisionClient provides advanced transition effects and
multimedia capabilities that highlight key information and efficiently manage
available display space.
The Airport has also chosen RapidADS, which displays
text and graphic advertising on a section of any FIDS
screen or the whole screen when the FIDS display is
inactive. RapidADS cycles through scheduled ads and is
activated upon pre-defined events. This maximises the
revenue return potential of an often underutilised
resource.
