Shanghai, China (October, 2007) - 2008 is the Chinese Year of the Rat (Earth), which signifies hard work and renewal. The coming year is the most opportune in the Chinese calendar for growth and change. The Shanghai Pudong International Airport has seized the opportunity to mark this prosperous year by selecting the Fujitsu-InterSystems team to be the provider of their world-class FIDS system.

Dozens of airports worldwide have chosen to use this crucial year to establish “growth and change,” the Shanghai Pudong International Airport is no exception. They have chosen not to settle for anything but the very best when they selected the Fujitsu-InterSystems team as their software supplier for their brand new Terminal 2 building in Shanghai.

InterSystems is commissioning the FIDS which controls over 1000 Flight Information Display Screens via our powerful RapidFIDS software. This allows airport and airline staff to easily and instantly change any of the LCD and LED displays throughout Terminal 2. The next phase will see the Terminal 2 FIDS take over Terminal 1 operations from the original RapidFIDS installation that dates back to 1999.
