Cork International Airport Selected Intersystems

May 2005 - InterSystems has been selected as the supplier of the Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) for the new terminal building at Cork International Airport in Ireland.

InterSystems was contracted by SUIR Engineering Limited for the supply of the new advanced RapidFIDS on Linux. The scope of the project includes the delivery of 107 Vision V monitors, network switches, file and application servers, workstations, installation and integration services.

The software system that will be provided to Cork International Airport will include the new state of the art Flight Manager, and it is backward compatible with previous versions of RapidFIDS. The solution is based on the RapidAIMS foundation, enabling the airport to expand into a full functioning Airport Operational Database (AODB) in the future.

Cork International Airport serves 12 airlines and over 55 scheduled and charter destinations. The new terminal building will bring the airport capacity to 5 Million passengers, and it is scheduled to be open during 2005.

InterSystems RapidFIDS on Linux has been selected recently by 7 airports worldwide. Linux operating systems is supportedby some of the major players in the market (such as IBM, Oracle, SUN, DELL and HP) as a widely accepted platform for mission-critical business applications.
