InterSystems awarded supply, installation and ongoing support of the new Check-in Counter Display system contract for Brisbane Airport Corporation Ltd.,(BACL)

Brisbane Airport Corporation Ltd.,(BACL) has once again shown the airport industry they are innovators by installing the nations first 40" LCD display screens. 

In October 2003, BACL signed a contract with InterSystems (Asia Pacific) Pty Ltd. for the supply, installation and ongoing support of the new Check-in Counter Display system. 

Mr. Bruce Allen, Managing Director of InterSystems (Asia Pacific) Pty Ltd. said "We're delighted that BACL has chosen us to provide this outstanding new technology for them. The bar has been raised and we are certain that other airports will follow suit once they see how stunning the new display system is in the flesh. It's stunning".
When completed in February 2004, 61 of the hi-tech LCD 4000 displays from NEC will be operational. Not content to just install the latest display technology, the contract also includes;

  • InterSystems DFP40 cabinet to house all the new equipment safely and securely using the existing structure and providing a highly aesthetic look.

  • GMC6 solid state display controllers

  • Development of new high impact display pages for flights information

  • Implementation of new high quality animated promotional information

  • InterSystems new SmartQ to assist airlines with efficient customer queue management

  • Integration of the baggage weighscale system.


 
Mr. Greg Shaw, Terminals Manager for BACL commented "We had been holding back on replacing the old Moving Curtain and Monitor combination for over a year because we needed something that had similar visibility but increased flexibility. Until the LCD technology came along, we were not convinced there was a viable alternative. The new LCD's and associated equipment supplied by InterSystems, are just sensational and continue to impress every-one that sees them. In the coming month we will implement stunning new visual effects and a sophisticated queuing system to further improve customer service and enhance the Brisbane travel experience".
