InterSystems Wins Three Projects Worldwide
September 9, 2001, Denver, Colorado, InterSystems recently won three projects worldwide: Calgary International Airport, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and Canberra Airport. InterSystems USA Inc.,based in Denver, Colorado won the first two projects in North America; the project in Canberra was won by InterSystems' Asian Pacific office based in Brisbane, Australia. The project at Calgary consists of a FIDS Software upgrade to support HTML and multimedia capability including location centric technology. The project also includes 20 Plasma Screens. Calgary won the coveted "Richard A. Griesbach Award of Excellence". Calgary also took first place awards in the Best Food and Beverage Program and also Best Retail/Specialty Program in its class size category. The second project won by InterSystems North American office is in George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas. A FIDS server with the capability to support FIDS throughout the entire Airport will be installed along with the following display devices in Terminal A: 28 LED Display Devices, 1 Plasma, 40 Monitors and Workstations. IAH is the nation's 11th busiest airport and currently growing at an annual rate of 6.8 percent. IAH served over 35 million passengers in 2000. The Houston Airport System (HAS) is the fourth largest multi-airport system in the nation and the sixth largest in the world.
