Schiphol Group Awards a $5 Million Contract for Vision Monitors to InterSystems BV

June 30, 1999, Amsterdam, Holland, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol recently awarded one of the largest contracts for Vision monitors in the airport industry to InterSystems BV. The value of the contract is about $5 million for the installation of approximately 2,000 "intelligent" monitors to be used in various parts of the airport.

"As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the aesthetics and functionality at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, we have recently purchased, after a tender procedure, 2,000 new, state-of-the-art Vision Monitors from InterSystems, a global leader in the production of intelligent monitors", said Mr. Van Halem, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
InterSystems developed one of the first "intelligent" Vision II video displays specifically designed for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to meet the demanding information needs in 1992. The latest step in the range of Vision monitors is the Multi-media Vision V monitor. Each Vision V display has a built-in computer combining advanced graphics and multi media capabilities with state of the art technology.
Digital control techniques simplify operation and maintenance, lowering the cost of ownership. Each display contains a Pentium based PC and SVGA compatible video controller. Since it has its own Pentium processor, memory and hard disk, each display performs many tasks independent from the host computer. Vibrant colors and sharply defined text in combination with live video images make the visuals attractive and easy to read.
